One can do more when he is backed up by many. Batman is a man who alone can get things done but he can only fend for one city as he is merely one person. It is not until Batman joins the justice league that he is able to do so much more than before because he has the help of so many super powered humanoids. being alone will always limit what you can do, but when you are with those who choose to help and that you allow help you the possibilities become near endless(figuratively of course).
